Mission Statement
Volunteers at Science North play
an integral role in our organization and expand the
scope of the Visitor Experience. They are ambassadors
for Science North and represent our community. Volunteers
at Science North can expect their work to be worthwhile,
challenging and educational. Volunteers can expect
to work in an environment that encourages participation,
welcomes feedback and builds a team network at all
levels.

What kind of volunteer opportunities are
there?
We're always looking for enthusiastic
volunteers for a variety of volunteer opportunities. Here
are just a few examples:
Horticulturalist volunteers - assist in the maintenance and propagation of various plants
in the science centre and F. Jean Macleod Butterfly
Gallery.
Biosphere volunteers -
assist in the care and maintenance of animals at Science
North.
Coffee Club volunteers - assist in mail-outs by applying labels and stuffing envelopes.
Professional Volunteer Opportunities are also available for the retired educator, engineer or
science professional.
Fix It Team volunteers - assist the exhibit staff with repairs and maintenance
of exhibits.
Welcome Team volunteers - As ambassadors for Science North ensure our visitors begin
their adventure in science in a truly "northern" way, offering information and hospitality in an exceptional
service environment. You will also assist and provide direction
about Science North and special programs and demonstrations.
